Lori Kremer

Lori Kremer, DVM

When Dr. Lori Kremer was still very young and growing up in Cold Spring, Kentucky, her father talked to a local veterinarian who let her observe and see what was going on in the hospital. “From then on,” she said. “There was no stopping me. I fell in love with the profession and still am to this day.” Today, Dr. Kremer is the owner and general practitioner at Harrison Animal Hospital. “This is the most amazing job in the world. There is truly something new every day,” Dr. Kremer said. Throughout her career, Dr. Kremer has come across just about every kind of case and condition, from skin grafts for a coon dog that fell out of a truck to helping cats out of trees and rehabilitating an old bobcat with two broken legs.

Dr. Kremer earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Thomas More College (where she still sits on the research committee) in 1985 and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989, graduating as a member of the Phi Zeta Honors Society. She has a professional interest in general medicine and surgery and continues her training through membership in the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Kremer shares her home with several pets, including LD, a terrier she found after he was hit by a car; Tater, a physically challenged bulldog that Dr. Kremer refused to euthanize; Nugget, an alapaha bulldog; one cat, Rico; a ball python; and 15 chickens. Aside from her animal interests, Dr. Kremer enjoys fishing, hiking, yard work, puzzles, and doing home repairs.

After graduating high school, she attended Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, graduating summa cum laude. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014.

Dr. Frerick has a Shih Tzu named Clara and a cat named Garfield. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, family games, and painting.
