Lori Kremer, DVM
Dr. Lori Kremer has dedicated her life to the care and well-being of animals, turning a childhood passion into a lifelong career. Raised in Northern Kentucky, her journey into veterinary medicine began when her father helped her shadow a local veterinarian. That experience sparked a deep love for the field, and to this day, she believes, “This is the most amazing job in the world. There is truly something new every day.”
Dr. Kremer earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Thomas More University in 1985, where she remains involved as a member of the research committee. She then pursued her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1989 as a member of the Phi Zeta Honors Society.
With a strong professional interest in general medicine and surgery, Dr. Kremer is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient she treats. She finds great fulfillment in the challenges and rewards of veterinary medicine, appreciating that no two days are ever the same. At home, she enjoys the companionship of her beloved pets—dogs Junior and Rip, and a cat named Cheddar—who serve as daily reminders of the deep bond between humans and animals.

Katie Frerick, DVM
Dr. Katie Frerick has been a dedicated member of Harrison Animal Hospital since June 2014, bringing passion and expertise to every patient she cares for. Her professional interests include general medicine, ophthalmology, and soft tissue surgery. She is also an active member of both the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
“I love helping owners make informed decisions for their pets,” says Dr. Frerick. “The variety of cases I see daily is astounding, and I really enjoy the challenge!”
Dr. Frerick’s love for animal care began in high school when she worked cleaning stalls in exchange for horseback riding lessons. This early experience sparked a lifelong dedication to veterinary medicine. She went on to attend Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, where she graduated summa cum laude, before earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014.
Outside of work, Dr. Frerick enjoys spending time with her beloved Shih Tzu, Turnip, whom she also takes to agility competitions. In her free time, she finds joy in horseback riding, family game nights, and painting.

Scott Hanson, DVM
Dr. Scott Hanson’s passion for veterinary medicine began early, spending his teenage years working on dairy farms and gaining hands-on experience in animal care. His dedication led him to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 1990.
He began his career in mixed animal practice, gaining invaluable experience with horses and dairy herd health. However, he soon realized his true calling lay in building long-term relationships with clients and their pets. After four years, he transitioned to small animal practice in his Ontario hometown, where he honed his skills in surgery, internal medicine, and veterinary dentistry.
In 2021, Dr. Hanson and his family relocated to Kentucky, where he pursued a Master of Public Health at Western Kentucky University, deepening his expertise in epidemiology and its applications in veterinary medicine. Since joining Harrison Animal Hospital in January 2023, he has been dedicated to providing personalized patient care with a focus on internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and veterinary dentistry. His commitment to dental excellence is reflected in his enrollment in the rigorous Veterinary Dental Practitioners Program through the International Veterinary Dentistry Institute. Colleagues describe him as passionate, thorough, and an engaging conversationalist.
Outside of work, Dr. Hanson enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, along with his two cats, Stash and Eddie. His hobbies include playing hockey, golfing, reading, and watching airplanes.

Cody Land, DVM
Dr. Cody Land has been a valued member of our practice since June 2019, bringing his passion for small animal care and dedication to helping pets thrive. Originally from small-town Indiana, Dr. Land had a well-rounded upbringing, excelling in academics, band, theater, and wrestling. He pursued his undergraduate degree at Indiana University before earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. He is also a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Land’s professional interests include caring for puppies and kittens, performing soft tissue surgery, and solving complex medical cases to diagnose and treat pets that aren’t feeling their best. His commitment to exceptional patient care is matched by his enthusiasm for continuous learning and refining his skills.
Outside of work, Dr. Land and his wife enjoy city living and are actively remodeling their home. They share their lives with a full house of pets—two dogs, Baby and Ember; seven cats, Floof, Tiny, Birdie, Ghost, Gypsy, Karma, and Junior; and a 600-gallon saltwater aquarium filled with vibrant marine life. In his free time, Dr. Land enjoys traveling to national parks, collecting American traditional tattoos, relaxing, and nurturing his passion for horticulture.

Maggie, Practice Manager
Maggie has been a valued member of Harrison Animal Hospital since 2010 and now serves as the Practice Manager. She plays a vital role in keeping the hospital running smoothly, from assisting clients and supporting veterinarians in exams to coordinating patient care and daily operations.
“I love interacting with our clients and knowing that I am helping them, whether it’s simply scheduling an appointment or assisting in surgery,” Maggie says.
With a deep passion for veterinary medicine, Maggie finds joy in continuously learning and growing within the field. She cherishes the connections she builds with clients and their pets, sharing in both their joyful milestones and difficult moments.
Outside of work, Maggie enjoys spending time with her family and pets, exploring the outdoors, and expanding her knowledge of veterinary care and practice management.
